The book War Stories is an investigation into the world of simulated conflict through nine interviews with people of a variety of ages and backgrounds. Their interviews concern their experience of playing conflict centric video games.
The interviews are edited to remove any context of video games from the copy, commenting on the closing margin between simulated and real conflict. On first reading the book it is not immediately apparent that the contributors are talking about a simulated experience, but rather this is slowly learned through the reading the text.
In the book the questions are blanked out, leaving only the answers legible. This has the effect of further enhancing the context of meaning in the answers given by the contributors.
The book War Stories acts as a companion book to War Games.
